Stop-Odor Foot Mask

Foot odor is created when sweat produced by the eccrine glands in the feet interacts with bacteria naturally present on the skin. The warm and moist environment inside shoes provides an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus epidermidis and Corynebacterium species.

As these bacteria metabolize the organic compounds in sweat, they produce volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including acids like isovaleric acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, and acetic acid. The release of these compounds into the air leads to the characteristic unpleasant odor associated with foot odor.
